Charlotte Bilingual Preschool Announces New Name Reflecting Growth and Expanded Impact
Charlotte, NC — Charlotte Bilingual Preschool is proud to announce that, effective July 1, 2026, the organization will officially transition to its new name: Charlotte Bilingual Learning Center. This change reflects the organization’s continued growth, expanded programming, and deepened commitment to serving more children, families, and educators across the community.
As a tuition-free institution, Charlotte Bilingual has spent almost three decades removing barriers to high-quality early education, ensuring that children from underserved communities have access to the tools they need to succeed. Through its bilingual model, the organization prepares students for lifelong academic and social achievement while strengthening connections between school, home, and community.
“This is more than a name change. It is a reflection of our evolution,” said Ana Silva Rey, Chief Executive Officer. “By changing our name to Charlotte Bilingual Learning Center, we are expanding how we serve our community by supporting children, families, and the educators who will shape future generations.”
Board leadership also emphasized the significance of this milestone. “Our new name signals both growth and intention,” said Jack Rand, Board Chair. “We are building on a strong foundation to reach more families, invest in educators, and ensure that high-quality bilingual education remains accessible at no cost to those who need it most.”
The transition to Charlotte Bilingual Learning Center aligns with the organization’s strategic plans for expansion, including increased capacity, enhanced programming, and stronger community partnerships. While the name is evolving, the mission remains the same: to provide access to high-quality bilingual education and empower children, families, and educators to thrive.
The organization invites its community of supporters, including families, donors, volunteers, and partners, to join in celebrating this exciting milestone. Additional updates and opportunities to engage will be shared in the coming months.

CHARLOTTE BILINGUAL PRESCHOOL SELECTED AS LOWE’S HOMETOWNS PROJECT
Lowe’s Hometowns projects demonstrate the power of improving community spaces to help address critical needs.
June 24, 2025 – Charlotte-based Charlotte Bilingual Learning Center (Previously Charlotte Bilingual Preschool) has proudly been selected as a Lowe’s Hometowns project, one of 100 community-nominated, large-scale renovations that will revitalize nonprofit and community spaces serving as hubs and heartbeats for hometowns. Now in its fourth year, Lowe’s Hometowns is the company’s five-year, $100 million commitment to repairing and restoring millions of square feet of community space.
The Lowe’s Hometowns grant will benefit Charlotte Bilingual Learning Center (Previously Charlotte Bilingual Preschool) as they renovate the facility at 6300 Highland Ave. With the Lowe’s Hometowns grant, Charlotte Bilingual will install new flooring, paint the interior and exterior of their building and install a digital sign at the roadside of their property. These renovations will provide Charlotte’s deserving Spanish speaking children and adults with a welcoming, visually appealing building and grounds.
With help from Lowe’s red vest associates, across the country, Lowe’s Hometowns projects will help expand kitchen and serving capacity for food pantries, restore dignity to well-used transitional housing facilities, revitalize parks and gardens for neighbors to safely gather and build restorative spaces for first responders to rest between calls.
Earlier this year, Lowe’s announced a promise to deliver 10 million square feet of impact to capture the immeasurable difference made when Lowe’s shows up to help, including initiatives like Lowe’s Hometowns.
